Small scale, personal shelter for undocumented women in Amsterdam.
We are a small foundation, offering 24/7 hours shelter and personal care for 24 undocumented women as part of the ‘Undocumented People Program’ of the Municipality of Amsterdam.
All women live independently in our shelter and have day activities at other locations in Amsterdam. Activities such as bike lesssons, dutch courses, sewing lessons, bike repair and so on. At our location our main goal is to create a safe haven where women feel encouraged to work on their own future again. We motivate the women to also support each other, in this challenging time in their life.
We believe people are best enabled to work on their future in a safe environment that encourages empowerment and self-reliance.
LVV program
All participants of the program get assigned a casemanager from a partner organization. This casemanager is suited for their current place in the program according to their wishes/ legal perspectives. We work with several partners that support our women with Legal counceling, Future orientation or the safe return to their country of origin.
Participation in the program and temporary stay in our 24/7 shelter is not without obligation. It is expected from all women that they actively collaborate in the program and focus on (re)creating a future for themselves.
